We all know we have amazing staff in DNR - experts in their field, lifelong learners, and passionate Natural Resource professionals. But what some of you may not know is that we have many team members stoking other passions that are not associated with their day job at all.

Welcome to the first installment of ‘Stars in our Midst.” This month’s installment features Cindy Claggett, District Manager at Carter Lake, who shared her gift of singing with the blog. Her account speaks to the versatility of talents and passions each of us hold.

“I've always loved singing.  It really grew for me when my kids were born and singing to them while they went to bed.  Once they got old enough to start belting out their favorite songs in the car, I knew I'd made it.  I started putting myself out there singing more, and people noticed.  I was invited to sing the National Anthem at a National Conference for Communications professionals held in Loveland, and I have been asked to sing it again for an Antiterrorism event coming up as well.  I love it, and I'm happy that others enjoy it too.”

Each month, ‘On the Ground’ will feature a new star in our midst, and it may be you! Is there a talent you possess or a hobby that has nothing to do with Natural Resources…but offers joy, contentment, and meaning to your life? Send your perspective and supporting photo or video to Korrie Johnston to be added in future months.
