Stars in our Midst: Gaylynn Richfield

By: Cindy Claggett, Carter Lake District Manager

A friendly wave from Gaylynn is a welcome sight at Pinewood.

The Prince to our Queen - Scooter!

All of our camphosts are amazing people.  They go above and beyond everyday and build relationships with our campers and day users that inspire connection.

One in particular we like to call the "Queen of Pinewood" Gaylynn Richfield.  Gaylynn has established herself as much a part of the Pinewood experience as the pine trees.  You'll see her mentioned several times in our "Rate your Day" feedback.

The reason why I want to highlight the Queen here is because Pinewood, being close to Carter Lake, doesn't get the staff time it deserves sometimes.  We have rangers and maintenance around yes, but not as frequently as the often-at-capacity-on-the-weekends status that Pinewood demands.

Gaylynn knows this and takes it upon herself to talk to every car that comes in, to make sure they have a vehicle permit and know where to park, and advise people of regulations they may not be aware of (because they are violating them) but she does it with a smile.

We know that when she calls for more help up at Pinewood it's because she has tried everything in her power to take care of the situation.  Thank you Gaylynn — We enjoy having you on our watch!  Oh, and Scooter is pretty cute too!
